Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God's grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. Providence will be offering confirmation classes and a retreat in January and February of 2010. During confirmation class, confirmands learn about the meaning of Christian faith; the history and teachings of The United Methodist Church; and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows they will be professing. The retreat allows a time of focused learning and an opportunity for our students to hear God at their own pace. Sometimes a trip away from our normal routine is the only way that we can hear God through all the noise.

All students (grades 6-12) are invited and encouraged to be a part of the year's confirmation program. Students who have already been through confirmation are allowed to attend classes and the retreat if they feel that they would like to take the class again.
